Tours leave from “The Pit” in Harvard Square, right outside the T Station by the Visitor Information kiosk and the Out of Town News. The guide should be nearby well before the tour begins, wearing historical clothing and hard to miss.

By T/Walking

Take the Red Line MBTA to the HARVARD stop, or the 1 Bus to Harvard Square.
When exiting the station, walk to the main exit at the end of the track, following signs for JFK Street.
Upon emerging from the escalators, your guide will be waiting in the Pit.

By Taxi

Tell your driver to take you to the Out of Town News in Harvard Square or 1400 Massachusetts Ave. Cambridge.

By Car

From I-93

Follow signs and take Exit 26 for STORROW DRIVE, heading WESTBOUND.
Go approximately 2.5 miles on Storrow Dr., continuing onto Soldier’s Field Road for another 1.5 miles.
Following the signs, take the exit for Harvard Square.
Turn right onto the bridge (JFK St.) at the end of the exit ramp.
JFK turns into Brattle Street for approximately a block, and then meets Massachusetts Avenue at the Harvard Square T.

From I-90

Take Exit 18 Towards Brighton/Cambridge, and follow the signs towards Cambridge.
Merge onto Cambridge Street, and follow it over the river.
After the Bridge, turn left onto Memorial Drive.
Follow Memorial Dr. to John F. Kennedy St. Turn right onto JFK St.
JFK turns into Brattle Street for approximately a block, and then meets Massachusetts Avenue at the Harvard Square T.

From anywhere in Boston, or South of the Charles River

Find the Charles River, and take either road running along its banks towards Cambridge.
Both Storrow Drive (Boston side), and Memorial Drive (Cambridge side) will lead you to Harvard Square, via JFK Street.
JFK turns into Brattle Street for approximately a block, and then meets Massachusetts Avenue at the Harvard Square T.

From Route 2 (North of Cambridge)

Take Route 2 East until it becomes Concord Street. Follow into Garden Street.
Turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue, which will take you right into the heart of the square.

From Mass. Ave (North of Cambridge)

Take Route 2A East (Massachusetts Avenue) towards Boston into Harvard Square.
