A Historical Field Trip for Grades 2-4

Though for elementary school students, this tour is hardly elementary; we call it our ‘Pioneers’ tour for a reason! Students walk and learn in the pioneering footsteps of Cambridge innovators in the arts, religion, government, science, and more! From John Winthrop to John Adams, Margaret Fuller to Martin Luther King, Jr. students engage with the fascinating history makers of the city.
In an interactive journey through time, students experience the most exciting and historic sites in Harvard Square. We show students the foundations of America’s first college, the house where General Washington lived when he first took command during the American Revolution, and the historic burying ground housing dozens of Puritans, fallen heroes, and intellectuals, among many other fascinating locations. But more exciting than the sites themselves, the stories and tales hidden in the streets of Cambridge will capture students’ imaginations and help develop a lifelong appreciation of history.
