About

Offer your students a different kind of history scholarship with an immersive walk through the historical sites of Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Students leave textbooks behind for the day to walk in the footsteps of the movers and shakers of American History. From radical early thinkers like Anne Hutchinson or Cotton Mather to the philosophers and activists of the nineteenth century like Ralph Waldo Emerson or Charles Sumner, students will become well acquainted with the radical ideas and movements that grew right here in Cambridge and blossomed throughout the nation. Our guides show your students only the most exciting and historic sites in Harvard Square.

Our tour includes: the old burying ground housing dozens of Puritans, fallen heroes, and intellectuals, the Brattle House home to Col. William Brattle and later Margaret Fuller, a site on the Underground Railroad, Harvard’s Memorial Hall, and more. But more exciting than the buildings themselves, the stories and tales hidden in the streets of Cambridge will enliven and enrich your students’ understanding of intellectual and political developments throughout American History.

At Cambridge Historical Tours we believe students learn best when actively engaged through storytelling and interactive learning. Our guides are professional performers and educators who seek to transform moments in history into memorable and relatable stories for students to build a lasting connection with the past.

We look forward to teaching your students with our fun and refreshing perspective so they may find a new enthusiasm for studying and experiencing history.
